If you keep the shaft quite short so you don't have to bend your elbow when holding the detector just slightly out in front of you and use a narrow width of search the weight is not to bad. I have only had some arm strain when detecting for long periods if I have extended the shaft out to much.

It is just really to set it to your own height the further out you have to reach your arm when detecting with the coil to far in front is what causes more arm strain.

I still the 2 original Explorer DVD`s from 2004 sitting in a draw.

In its day the Explorer was the dogs danglies.

The short shaft problem can be overcome with a little ingenuity.

Takes me back to the happy early Corfe days ::g Jerry.

make a bungee harness or buy 1, not only do they help with weight but you dont have to set the machine down to dig ::g swing low and slow with this machine ;)
