Latest on V4, Pinpointer, New Coils & GPS Tracking

Post by Fisher1266X »

This is the best info I have seen lately but be prepared for last minute changes. July 2016 is the latest estimate for the release, in time for the XP Rally :D

Version 4
# Connect to a smartphone app 'Go Detect', recording target info, GPS tracking, soil conditions all allowing for the creation of a fully informed database, greater visual info rather than just a monochrome screen all creating a faster interface.
#New menu's, one especially for beach and saltwater, fine tuning of reactivity and more...

'Go Detect' site: http://go-detect.com/

Pinpointer
# Waterproof, Rechargeable, can be controlled via the remote or 'phone app, several settings, sound transmitted to the headphones, priced in competition with similar pointers.

New Elliptical Coil 12 x 24cm
# Designed to access tighter areas such as furrows or in between crop stalks
# 4 new frequencies; 10, 20, 30 & 40 Khz. Ideal for high ferrous content and highly mineralised ground. No SRP as of yet.

The Hoard Hunter Coil Setup
This twin box disc setup attaches to the Déus stem and has a claimed depth of 2 metres or even deeper using the VLF mode for large masses such as in-situ hoards etc.
Again, no SRP for this either.

I'm sure that there will be even more info out soon......

XP should have released the pinpointer years ago i cant understand why its taken so long they would have sold a pointer with almost every Deus, i am not too sure about the hoard hunter design all the other 2 box set ups have been rubbish.

Thanks for the information. That coil doesn't sound like it will be of much use to the majority of UK detectorists then, more suited to nugget hunting.
Cheers

No worries, I'm sure there will be more info to follow :D

On the contary, quite a lot of forum members appear to be active beach detectorists with 26471 posts on this subject alone ;)
The coil offers a wider range of frequencies, I'm sure there must be a logical reason for this.
I'm sure I read that the coil has features that are especially suited to V4........

With regards to the pinpointer, with XP being relatively new (1998) to the detecting arena they will have to learn to walk before they can run. ;)
I'm certain that most would agree that they have done really well considering ::g
They have shaken the stalwarts into rethinking design.

It can only get better :D

I would never put my findings onto any app ever be careful with apps like that and it also has in app purchases i can't for the life of me think this is a massive money spinner , as someone said am not sure this new coil is going to make a massive difference to the coils that are already out, only time will tel though , thanks for the info though ::g
