Control box
Had the Deus for a couple of years and had to replace the control box mount as it got badly chipped, the new one worked just fine for about 6 months, and still works, but I have noticed that the fit is slackening off, what if anything am I doing wrong, is it just wear and tear? and how can the issue be minimised? Thanks in advance.

I'm only a newbie but I have read that you should make sure the mount is regularly cleaned.
I assume dirt in the mount can damage it..

I have noticed that when new, the mount is very tight fitting and then starts to slacken off with repeated use. No inuendo is intended.

Hi .. I do like this.. have lasted for years now.. - " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I was going to say keep the groove clean but just read your last post.
I always clean the groove out with a toothpick now as the nail brush didn't get it all out..
Suppose it's just plastic on plastic wear.
Not sure how to reduce it, maybe something like a mineral-oil lubricant?
Or don't detect as often

Definitely worth a try. When you mentioned lanyard I had to have a look at my control box, never knew it had a lanyard hole until now rl;Danzigman wrote:Im thinking graphite pen /pencil.. or teflon - would make it jump right of.. So remember safty lanyard (also seen in Video)

Serious question regarding this subject... I'm not a Deus user so this may be a ridiculous question
but why is it necessary to remove the control unit from the stem so frequently that it results in premature wear? I'm sure 're-charging' can be carried out with the control unit in-situ.
I use an XP Goldmax Power4 and can relate that locating the control box on the stem is also a 'rubbishy affair' - perhaps it runs in the XP family!!
Hope you get a simple and practical solution from one of the many users of the ubiquitous Deus.

Easy transport.. And it is not tat difficult. Guess you can remove it 5 times a day for years before wear will become an issue.. Faulty de or remounting can do a little extra wear.. I have not so far heard of one broken or worn out.. And guess every detector have it´s small thingssweepstick47 wrote:Serious question regarding this subject... I only remove the control unit for charging as the charging wires are long enough to allow the control unit and coil to be charged insitu. For transport I have the unit attached to the stem. I have the lanyard, but I dont want to get to the stage where it the lanyard becomes a nescessity.Danzigman wrote:Easy transport.. And it is not tat difficult.
