Just about to hit the beach again on the north Norfolk coast Usually it's about 15 times a year as me mrs has just started sea swimming (no wet suit ) again and beings no land available I have to go I've now tried the dues for 2 yrs on beach. It seems fine on the dry stuff ( just use normal program) but on the wet with the pre installed wet program all I've ever got is the odd bit of molten ali Maybe there's nowt there!! But all the times I've been there most people do the dry sand. So I've convinced myself there must b something out there??? With the wet prog in the air it'll only get a £1 at about 4" Can any one recommend a better program. Or is the dues not really suited to the wet and I need a pi. With thanks junior
While the Deus is not rated too highly as a wet beach detector I have found stuff with mine. I use the standard wet beach programme and have found a gold ring and a few pounds in the wet though none very deep, typically down to around 4-5 inches. There are rumours that V4 which should be out later this year along with a new coil may make the Deus more wet beach friendly, let's hope so.
So if you're not finding anything it's either not there or too deep for the Deus.
Cheers Devonboy. Maybe it's wait till v 4 comes out leave it a few months and see what people are reporting on it or another detector rl; rl; Thank u for your reply. junior.
As said many times. Not all beaches are the same. Rocks, Peebles, sand, shells, mud, mineralized or not and combinations of some or all. Add in gullies hardpack and so on.
My machine is not really any good at the beach but some I can walk all the way from the dry to the surf without altering the settings yet others its completely useless on the wet.
Once you know its limitations you normally find a spot nearby that's doable. As an example I can't do by the pier in Blackpool but can a few miles either side.
