First off the ACE 150 does not have a pinpointer feature so many opt to purchase the ACE250 which does ::g The ACE300i and ACE400i as far as I know are updated versions of these prior machines and have only just been released, I have not had a chance to read the specs between these older and newer models so I am not personally aware of the differences, hopefully someone will be along soon who does ::g
Regarding the ACE350, this machine was regarded as being tuned for an International market and not ideally suited to UK soil conditions.
Cheers

The three new Ace models all function on different frequencies in addition to varying features:-

Ace 200i - 6.5 kHz

Ace 300i - 8 kHz

Ace 400i - 10 kHz

I am a little confused by the changes in frequency. I understood the lower the frequency the easier it passed through soil or water so why increase the frequency? I have noticed some people have a preference for the doubleD coil will that fit on the 250? or not

Lower frequencies do go deeper I understand, but tiny targets like thin small hammered and their fractions react stronger to higher frequencies.
What puzzles me is why higher frequency machines tend to cost more.

6.5 to 10 will not make a jot of difference.

Made for Amerian soil makes me laughf. America is a very big country with every type of soil. Seen a few tests of Garretts earlier model range and if you use an identical coil the results are the same.

Did see a test of multi detectors and had the 150 with very poor recovery. That has now been removed from the Internet so treat that with great susption.

Most manufacturer sell the same detectors with different price points often just something taken out of the firmware or external control removed from the face plate.
