Deus on the beach - Scarborough

I have pretty much got my head around the Deus inland and love it. Having seen a few posts and videos about using one on the beach I thought I would give it a go.

No matter what settings I tried the machine was so unstable, tried wet beach, would not ground balance by pumping and the read out for manual GB stated "0" tried various manual GB's from 10 upwards but still not stable, I reduced the sensitivity down to 65 which helped but there was no depth, struggle to pick up a coin at 4" and a coil of copper wire on the surface did not even register

Tried Goldfield and no chance, every movement was a signal

Spoke to one of the local guys with who simply stated that only an FBS machine or a PI would work on the wet here, I guess we must have much more mineralisation here on the east coast than in other areas of the country?

Anyone else tried a Deus on the east coast with any success?

Guess I will need another machine for use on the beach

You'll probably need either a 'Dual Purpose', 'multi-frequency' or Pulse machine. It's very much a matter of Horses for Courses. Regards - ss47

Apparently you can make a Deus perform (see lots of previous posts on these forums about how to do it including those by 'The Ferret) however it still won't touch a machine which is designed to be at it's best on beaches.
