What a difference

Post by Blackadder43 »

My god i never realised how important the headphones were until mine broke....
Long story short:
Was walking back across the fields and somehow the foam protector fell off my old headphones....didnt notice until i got home.....went back to fields and no sign of them
Soooo
Today i was in town and called into a local electrical retailers that my friend is manager of....
Was chatting to him about headphones and he pulled out a dusty box of Philips HP 910 phones...He explained they were no longer available and these were just old stock.....He said they didnt have volume control and when i saw the price i almost passed out and quickly handed them back....£89.99

He laughed and said they have to go so make me an offer....my good wife said "a tenner"...he handed them back and said deal....
So for a tenner i thought what the hell....
I have just tryed them out and my god they are comfy, light, surrounds your ear perfectly and doesnt squash your ears like my old ones did...

So the air test....normaly detector volume on 5 (anything above 5 on my machine just amplifys the weak beeps)
They blew my ears off!!!
So dropped volume on detector to 2 and my god...the sound is perfect.....no lag....great distinguishable beeps....
Air tested a hammered coin at almost 11" and the sound was perfect even at the point the machine could barely detect it....
Tryed with my old headphones and lost the sound at about 10" (probably lower out in the field with the wind blowing because of the old headphones design)
and the sounds were completely different.....

So all in a good day....now the proud owner of a good set of phones...no volume control but no biggie with dropping the volume on the detector.....comfy as anything....and sounds are absolutely perfect and instant....
