Cheers for the sites some good info there ::g

I think I am decided on getting one 2nd hand now, usually I like to buy new but in this case I'll try a used machine, should be some decent ones out there and am already looking at a few, could get the full kit for up to and around £800, just hope I find a nice condition one with no hidden flaws :)

Right, so, ... the Xp Deus is on it's way!! (Lite) :-SS 8-}

I decided in the end that for piece of mind (etc) buying new and from Regtons would be the best outcome, and through the information here I managed to get the Deus Lite with WS4 and 11" coil for a good price of £675!!, which they price matched and are shipping out 1 day delivery, so thanks everyone for the info you gave. ::g

The remote I plan to add in maybe 3 months when I save more, for now I'll swing the Lite and see what it has to offer, excited to get out and about with it now :)

Thanks mate, where are your youtube videos gone? I was searching the other day, have you stopped making them?.

I'll be back at it when I get the Deus :)

Hey Steve, I've had a lot on recently with exams etc. so haven't been able to do them. Look forward to seeing some vids :)

I have the ws5 & think for the price the quality is shockingly bad.
Sounds not very good. Ear cups keep falling off charging cover disappeared.
Never use them now.

Ref your choice.
I was thinking about getting the 28ws4 also.
Maybe getting the wristband accessory.
Does this allow you to operate the machine to most of its capabilities.
If that is the case what benefit would the remote bring that you can't get from just the headphones.
If I can take the controller off of the headphones onto my wrist.
I would hope I would then be able to see the numbers, change settings whist hearing the sounds through the headphones.
Surely the remote is then not needed.

Or am I missing something.
I am not bothered about drilling down to the nth degree of the machines possibilities.

Thanks Kenny

Kenny i don't think you will see any numbers as target id' on the headphone controller, i started with the basic back phones but discovered very quickly it is limited, you have to remember the programme numbers as they simply come up as number 1,number2 etc and if like me you can't remember a wet sand to a dry sand programme out comes the book again!! The control does so much more and i purchased one one in a bout 6 months of having one. If your happy on deus fast or basic 2 and can differentiate the tones then great but for me the control box is great, target id is very useful but if it sounds good we dig it ::g ::g

Doing pretty well with it since I've had it, and still don't understand half of it! :)) 8 hammered's (if 4 copper ones count) amongst other nice coins and artifacts on the few outings I've had :)

Day 2 throws up a few nice things too :D most people so far seem to recommend using programme 3 with sensitivity on 95, discrimination on 1, and full tones...until I get the control box, so those are the settings I use on land now and they seem to pull up small hammies with a crisp clear tone. :;@

It's nice being able to use the Lite, and build up tone knowledge, but I can see now how much a control box is needed for the extra info and fine adjustments, savings have started so hopefully I will be getting it in a month or 2.

Only thing I dislike so far are the headphones comfort, to me they are really uncomfortable, and I tend to adjust them often when my ears or head start aching, my fault for having a big a head I suppose, you small headed people are probably fine with em =))

Just been on a website that I can't name, to order myself the finest, and low cost "furry m" I could find, haha. B-)

Just a thought?

I was thinking a cost effective way of getting all the benefits of a Deus but saving £250+ would be to get the Deus with control box but no head phones.

For head phones you can get a bluetooth transmitter and bluetooth headphones for less than £30. Both WS4 and WS5 types are available.

Just attach the bluetooth transmitter to the back of the control box with Velcro and plug into the headphone socket. This way you get all the benefits of the control box but save £250-350 on headphones.
