Anyone looking for a buddy?

Post by carluk »

I am based in Medway and I am looking for someone with permissions that is willing to show the ropes and share their land to a newbie in the hobby.
I just got an entry level Garrett but lack permissions or land to detect on. I would be eternally grateful if someone in my local area could share their knowledge.
I will return the favour when I get some permissions of my own.

Thank you

Happy hunting :)
If in doubt, dig it out!

Hi Carl, welcome to MDF. I'm relatively new myself and looking for sole permissions also, although I recently gained a permission of sorts, its on a guest basis from another detectorist, so I'm afraid I can't help you. However you may want to consider joining a club, I've got my name down on the waiting list of a couple in Kent. Hopefully that will also give rise to some searching opportunities in the not too distant future.

Best of luck.

Thanks Trenchie, I got my name on the waiting list for Medway History Finders. I'm itching to start or give somewhere local a quick bash. I did my garden but couldn't find anything. It's only a small dirt area. Not enough to satisfy. I emailed my council but still no reply. Mind you, I only emailed them today. It would just be nice to put my new tool to some action.
I need some practice before I go on rallies.
If you do come by some land and don't mind sharing it for a few hours I would really appreciate it.
Good luck mate and happy hunting!
