Question about setting up the 11" coil on XP Deus

Post by jules67 »

Greetings, fellow metal detecting maniacs!

I have a question to ask here: I've had an XP Deus v3.0 for a few years now, but have only used it like 3 times over that period. The other day I decided to give it a go again. The batteries charged well, no problem there.
However, I decided to add the bigger 11" coil that I've also had for years, but was never able to get going. I added the serial number through the remote, I think it synced to the the headphones and overall the coil seemed to be communicating with the remote (see picture 1

). However, NO SOUND from the coil!! =( (meaning it's not detecting). I've also attached a second pic of the list of coils (my #1, the regular size coil works fine):

PLEASE, somebody help me x; . Do I have a defective large coil? Am I doing something wrong? These setup procedures seem to be quite particular =)

Thank you in advance for any help or advice that you can throw my way. I'm only a newbie here.

Cheers! OooO

Yep, you need to set the headphones to the coil.

Make sure all elements have the same version of firmware installed. In fact reinstall to latest version and try again. Sure this will solve any issues.

Hi Jules, I had exactly the same problem as yourself and i had 1 mismatched letter when trying to pair the 11" coil with the rest of the bits and bobs.! Lol.
Make sure the coil serial number is correctly entered into the headphones and the control unit, That sorted it out for me mate,.!! !!!!
All the best,
Neil. ::g
