Hi, I have the coil and am very pleased with it on the right terain, it enables good ground covereage and it can give greater depth. However in high trash areas and uneven surfaces it will strugle over the 11" .This coil seriously un balances the machine and I can't swing for too long with it on, I would recommend a bungy harness like the specfic Minelab one if you want to use for any lenght of time.

Might be worth investing in an additional lower shaft if you go that route, as a lot easyier to swap over with cold wet hands lol. By the way the pinpointing is very hit and miss with this coil. I still use the 11" coil more though, as such a good allrounder.

PS I don't do beachs so can't add anything about that

PPS my spell checker has stopped working, sorry to the OCD out there =))

Hello 'Junior' ::g There is much more to the answer than a straight yes or no. A few more details regarding your experience in detecting and using the CTX machine together with a brief outline of why you are considering such a purchase would have been useful in order to get a more considered reply from an experienced CTX user - which I'm not!.

I think the best way to approach the matter (as it's presented), is probably to suggest waiting until you feel confident and experienced enough to make the decision yourself - after all, this is an expensive item and not one to be cajoled into.

If you were to ask for an initial impulse answer as a 'non user' (but with a few years detecting experience) I'd say - No and No.

I know the CTX 3030 to be an excellent machine and it's supplied 11 inch standard coil, has been developed specifically for use with it. so?
All the best and Good Luck whatever your decision ::g Regards ss47

Cheers dave and sweep stick. Ive only had the 3030 since nov 16 im still looking for the magic wand of detectors (no 17 in 8 yrs ) the dues is now back up. We detect mainly on a stubble / harvested beet combo, and have only done meadow 3 times in 8 yrs. The big coil would of been a prezzy as dont know what else to have. Have seen a 3030 with the small eye shaped coiltec coil i dont know if this would be a better option the land isnt alive with iron nor good finds as been done by my mate for 10 yrs and done previously before him. Once went 3 months with out a coin. We are generally out most sundays i think it worked out 65 outing last year. Does the big coil tend to chase the find around the hole as i can remember digging big holes with the e trac and sef coil. Cheers junior x;
