Return visit to the beach with 2 possible gold rings

Post by Giz »

Returned to the beach today, this time 15 £1 coins, 2 £2 coins, 1932 sixpence, decimal and pre decimal, I chunky 9ct mens wedding ring, a possible gold ring no hallmark it is faded/tarnished like a 9ct which has been in the wet sand for a considerable amount of time and 1 small silver ring hallmarked 925. again using the Sovereign GT, discrim mode with no discrimination, auto sensitivity with the 12 inch ultimate coil, again thanks for looking. ::g In my excitement I forgot to take "sand shots" of the other 2 rings. :D

The conditions have to be spot on ie, wind direction for at least 3 days coinciding with strong spring tides and something I can't explain, this being, this "blow" the beaches I normally detect hardly if any sand stripping has taken place, however the beach where these hunts took place, around 90cm/3feet has gone leaving quite a drop and when I saw large stones showing ( bloody hard extracting the finds) well ding dong your lordship :D and to really p you off no one else detecting. Its been 3 years since I last saw so much sand movement on this beach and with the wind changing direction the sand will soon return leaving only meager finds. Its a matter of being able to go at the right time, then you are probably aware of that. Oh and yes a multi frequency machine to be able to boldly go where others struggle :D
