Question on tone break using Gary's Ultimate program
Question on tone break using Gary's Ultimate programI have recently been digging quite a few hot rocks which appear to come in around the 26 mark using Gary's Ultimate program. I am considering upping the tone break from 10 to 30. What kind of targets could I potentially be missing by raising the tone break to this level? Has anyone else modified the Ultimate program to raise the tone break? How did others fare?
Thanks, John aka Copperballs1 ![]()
Hi
I've been using the ultimate prog for a while now, I've not changed anything except the sound level of tones for my hearing, I've had a few hot rocks but I believe if you filter out specific "numbers" what might you be missing. I've had good results although not sure about depth, it may not be reaching as deep but how long is a piece of string?? I may give it some thought but have switched progs on target and not much different than fast as far as I can tell. A hot rock is a hot rock, if you dig it it's not there anymore, they come in non specific numbers, if the tone sounds good dig it That's my twopence worth but sure there will be more seasoned Deus users that will add more meat to this bone Regards Steve -----------------------------------------------(ooooooooo)-------------------------------------------------
Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value. Albert Einstein I would agree with Steve_T, there are a number of good targets that could be ignored because they come in around those values. I've altered the programme to have an additional tone and I set the 3rd at 27 and the 4th at 60. I run the 3rd tone at around 550 and the 4th at 800. In fact looking forward to V4 so that I can push that 4th one up to 1000. Hopefully, will be able to hear the difference then!
Cheers Ju
John you say you are finding hot rock, could it be coke you are finding. I tend to find that coke comes in at around 26ish.
Bob.
V4 may be interesting if tone can be made higher, I like a positive difference in the tones, for my hearing anyway
I believe you have to have confidence that you have made the right adjustments, or you would be forever changing settings on the fly and not getting anywhere. Without having several people with different settings' let alone different machines comparing before digging we will never know 100% if it's worth digging or if we have the best settings, and when deciding what it actually is that we decide to dig on, what we think is a great target turns out to be a shotgun cartridge, treat any good signal you don't dig as your loss. Confidence in what we have settings set on are key to being happy in detecting, all ground is different permission to permission, we all walk and swing at our own pace, so many variables to consider that will mush the brain if we give it too much thought and doubt.
