I dont have any suggestions about clubs etc as i live down south, but that is a fantastic historical area that you are in,about as good as it gets.
Hope you find a buddy or a club or maybe both soon.

Hi, I'm based in SW Northumberland and just last week dusted off my XS2a Pro after nearly 4 years of it sitting in the cupboard unused and hit the beach.panther0167 wrote: Sat Mar 11, 2017 10:59 am Looking for a buddy,or group, club in Morpeth,Bedlington,Ashington,or any of the surrounding area's looked for a club in this area but cannot find one,any help gratefully appreciated.

Got the bug back and hoping to get out and about detecting again - can only do every other weekend due to other commitments though.
No permissions unfortunately

Hi, you are in a lovely part of the country - I used to frequently get up there for racing.
Sorry I do not know the area as far as metal detecting is concerned so can not directly answer your question. However lack of local clubs, or them being full, is a common thread on here and another is not being able to get permissions.
One option that you might like to consider is going on digs with groups such as Lets Go Digging http://letsgodigging.com/ which holds events over most of the country, but so far infrequently that far North.
I accept that big groups like this are not everybodies cup of tea, but they are a great way to meet other detectorists and have a "social" side as well as just providing a chance to detect somewhere new. Newcomers are always welcome and its a good chance to ask questions and get advice - but not just after the dig starts and everybody wants to begin!
Where you are if you do not have inland permissions consider detecting on the beaches. If you look at http://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/rural-a ... ting/maps/ it will show the beaches owned by the Crown Estate, you just need to follow the T&Cs, the vast bulk of these you can detect but a few are covered by SSSI and such like.
