Hi, I just downloaded the latest version of V4 (I heard the first V4 release had issues so I held off). Installed the latest V4 with my controller and 9" coil. The WS5 appeared to update as it had the 'UP' on the display. However, I can't switch the WS5's off or get rid of the 'UP' on the display. The remote controller and the coil working fine (via the controllers speaker) and displaying V4.
I tried the update again but when it comes to the point where it should update the WS5's it states that 'no headphones can be found' and asks to end the update. Regton's recommended me to leave the situation like this for 40 minutes with the charger plugged into the phones (everything was fully charged before I commenced) and see if the 'UP' completed. They seemed to think the WS5's were stuck in program mode! Anyhow, that did not work... anyone have any other ideas? Perhaps try going back to V3.2 ?
Thanks... Dave

OK, I read another post where a couple of other peolpe had the same problem... one suggested going back to V 3.2 so I tried that.... controller and coil went to V 3.2, but again, the program on screen claimed it could not see the WS5's... and ended the UPdate again. So I still have the 'UP' displayed on the WS5's and can't switch them off or program them.
Damb, I wish I had stuck with V 3.2 now... looks like my headphones are toast!
I looked for a re-set pin hole but can't see any... anyone know how to disconnect the battery or re-set the processor in the WS5's (button pushes?) as it appears that the processor is stuck! As they are less than two years old I guess I should send them back to my retailer... just thought someone on here might have a fix?

Thanks for the reply Ferret, yup... looks that way. Normally if logic circuits get confused you can sometimes disconnect the power or press a reset button to set the back to ground zero. I will phone Regton's again on Monday or drop them into my retailer (about thirty miles away from me).
Cheers...

Hi Davybfast... yup I tried that two or three times. The controller when updating fails to 'see' the headphones and just times out then finishes the update for the controller and coil. I was hoping to find some way of unplugging the battery and resetting the logic (I think it's confused) but can see no way of getting inside the phones, although the XP Deus website claims that the batteries are easily replaced as they are on a micro plug but fails to say how to gain access. I don't want to mess with them really as they are under warranty still... but a battery re-set would probably un-lock the processor. Does most PC's anyway LOL

Update...
OK, I took the faulty WS-5's back to my retailer, Leasure Promotions (LP) on Wednesday the 17th May.
It appears that he PCB (circuit board) was fried. LP forwarded the WS-5's to Regtons (the importer) who replaced the PCB.
The phones arrived back at my AD by courier on Monday the 22nd May. WHAT... a five day turn around! This kind of service is just amazing! Please take note prospective buyers; this kind of service does not grow on trees! Anyhow, updated the returned WS-5's to V4 and input my coil ID and everything is hunky dory. One happy camper here... ^
Word of warning though... if you have two headphones to update; I would advise to do one at a time rather than try doing both on one update. The update software appears not to finalise the update to the first headphone before it then asks for and commences to update the second pair. This then frazzles the circuit board in the first set. Possibly it has worked for some people, but in future... I will not risk it!
