Keep at it Tony, I've now managed to get a couple of hrs out early tomorrow, but the tides are all wrong at 6.30am. It could be a very short trip to Southend. Roll on next weekend.
A bit nippy I got there at 7am left at 9 with a pound ( 400i breaks it duck) and plenty of ali fragments and other junk.

Although I have a bad neck at the moment I might be able to make Southend for an hour or so on Sunday

I've just joined this forum having been detecting for around five years (but having taken the last couple of years off due to health) - and am quite literally itching to get out. I'm not flush with regards to permissions, but beach detecting as you've all put above ticks all of the boxes. I'm located in Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire (Midlands) and usually enjoy a day-trip up to Talacre (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talacre).

The main beach is approved to be detected on, plenty of history in the area (Training range within the second world war, numerous old beach-properties that have since been knocked down that were situated on the beach and nearby dunes) - and have pulled some fantastic little military relics out of the ground there! I appreciate it's getting colder and darker, but should anybody feel relatively robust, feel free to drop me a private message (or post here) and we can all get out. More the merrier! :D ::g
