V4 or 3.2?
I am struggling with wether to stay with V4. I have heard that 3.2 is far better and was wondering what views you guys have on the subject, i cant put my finger on it but V4 seems like it's lacking something. Any thoughts?

I am still using the out of the box version 3.2 and will not upgrade it until there is a stable and time tested '4.something' version out there. There is a lot of debate regarding the new V4 though. Some users say it's great, others have serious (coil) problems with it. Version 3.2 has never failed on me so I'll stick with that for now.

I use neither versions,i am still on good old reliable version 2,i still reckon the audio is better on 2 than 3.2 which i did try for a while, its a version that is reliable and i will still carry on using it.

Its each to his or her own. I up graded from 3.2 to v4 with no problems. Gary from Xp has done Video on how to do it. I find it better l like the xy screen. Getting some nice finds at the moment on a small paddock l went over well with 3.2. May go for the MI6 pp and you need v4 for it to work though the deus
Hope this help.

Th3Edge you will just not find more in V3,2, most Deus users are now using the latest software version with great success. I started out in V3.2 then upgraded to V4.0, which in my own experience was an improvement in several areas, just as XP had designed it.
Though maybe lesser generally known, In V4.0 software some programs are actually still based on V2.0 and V3.2 filters, and the rest are based on V4.0. The choice of base program is still there to reproduce the same or even create a custom programs based in V2.0 or V3.2.
Whether you upgrade or just stick with whatever version works for you or suits your comfort zone it does not matter to anyone else, but in your decision you should honestly ask yourself the question of why any manufacturer would possibly bring out a backwards upgrade? Remember that people are more likely to post negative reviews of things rather than positive ones. But still respectively, each to ones own choice.
Thank God you didn't ask about the V4.1 upgrade
Not sure how you are running your Deus or what programs you use or even what land type you are having doubts with. If you run it quite hot then you really do need to understand it well or you will miss lots, In standard programs you should have no problems. Maybe you are you just not finding what is not there to start with?
Anything that V4.0 is lacking should be improved by the next update, whether we choose it or not.

Lacking what? It sounds like you are frustrated with your finds rate or the finds themselves. There is no way I would go back to v3.2. The grass is not greener in another software world. If it makes you feel more confident with the machine then go ahead but it won’t change anything in reality. V4 is a very good software upgrade but I suspect many of us hated our machines for a week or so whilst we re-adjusted to it. Going back will means having to re-adjust again. Instead just put the machine down. Take a break. It’s your mojo you need back, not v3.2...Th3Edge wrote: Tue Nov 28, 2017 8:00 pm I am struggling with wether to stay with V4. Thanx guys for the info and all really helps, i went out today and tried a few things i read about the ground balance in V4, and did a manual GB of 84 and i started finding coins and stuff again my best day to date, seems my GB was out even in tracking or even when i used pumping.
I probably learnt more about my deus today than ever.
Thanks again guys for the help and advice.

I too would not go back to previous versions. Using V4 I have had some good finds recently. Of course it can be argued that I would have found them anyway but I too like the XY graph; it's not infallible but quite useful all the same. Not bad at identifying coke. My only gripe is the stupid switching off headphones after 5 hours use which did not happen before I installed the latest software. The only scenario where they should switch off is if the machine is not being used (no buttons pressed for 5 hours) so I do find that annoying.

Each detector/programme speaks a language, at first like any language you can figure out a lot of what is being said, after several years listening and interpreting the sound, you know what adjustments to make and eventually you become as one with the detector and fully confident, your ear has tuned in and you know just what you are listening for, through hours in the field your psychomotor skills develop and your swing speed becomes unconsciously set at the optimum, you get to know the sound of a deep coin at an angle next to iron. Do I want to start the process all over again? No thank you.
The other day I was listening to a podcast which Gary was on. He made it plain that v4 didn’t change the v3.2 programmes. It just added 2 new ones, the XY screen and the Hf coil and Mi6 pinpointer compatibility . But it didn’t change the pre-existing programmes.
I wanted to correct my previous post. I said it had required re-adjusting when you changed versions. It had felt different probably because of the new screen (although I could, of course, have reverted back to the horse shoe one if i’d have wanted to). But it doesn’t change them at all. So if you were to go back to v3.2 then it wouldn’t change anything with the original programmes. No point really though, if they are the same....
But if you are on 3.2 and are reticent about the upgrade then don’t be. Mind you there is no point doing it either if the additional functionality isn’t of interest.
Anyway hope that helps clear up any confusion and corrects the misinformation i’d previously shared.
