Coil battery sealant

Post by solmer »

Hi there!

Some time ago Mungo Baggins answered about which substitute should I use to "fill" the battery hole in the coil ( viewtopic.php?f=239&t=93118) but now checking the post it only shows a double dot .. i don't know how it has disappeared ¿¿??

Could someone tell me a good substitute to change my battery? I'm sure threre is another "brand" other than Cyanolite which is hard to find an expensive (the cost of the Cyanolite + shipping is more than the price of the battery). Reading about the Cyanolite Kolfort info says is more or less a glue-silicon compound....

Thanks in advance.

Saw this on the internet recently, never tried it, hope I never have to!
Try it on something expendable ........... it might work.

“ Last week I was out detecting and hit a rock that was frozen to the ground resulting in my coil cracking and a lump coming off it and I don't know how or why but all I had afterwards was false signals every swing but it's fixed now thanks to a very very good video I watched (just by chance) it was a guy who works with carbon fibre he showed how they patch and fill defects in carbon fibre products and I was amazed all u need is two things super glue and bicarbonate of soda that's it fill the chip /dent /crack with super glue sprinkle on the bicarbonate of soda and it instantly and I mean instantly goes rock hard apparently 10x stronger than super glue”

Hi, thanks Bridex but I only need to seal the battery compartment, Carbon F is good for repairing :)
