Cannot help with the setting on the Deus for the Foreshore, how deep does your license allow you to dig on the Thames foreshore ? different licences allow different depths as i understand.
Equinox 6'',11'' and 15'' coils.
Deus 2 9'' coil.
Minelab GPX 14'' and 18'' Coiltek coils.
Fisher TW-5 twin box.
Nexus MP 13'' coil.
Nexus SE dual 9'' coil.
Whites TDI Pro 20'' coil.

i have a standard permit that allows me to go 3 inches so its not about depth more about sorting out good from bad targets and by that i mean the foreshore covered in iron. how can i cut that out without losing the good signal

I still reckon of of the all time classic machine/s/coil combination are the Tesoro/Lasers with the 4'' coil on,as you have mentioned its not about depth but target separation, something that is basic and simple and reliable.

Defo go for a small coil aIthough it can be very frustrating detecting with a standard permit, when you've scraped/dug to 7.5 cm and you haven't quite reached that target!
The Thames is a special place to visit....eyes only isn't necessarily a bad way of enjoying the foreshore.
Mind the doors!

From all the (many) videos i’ve seen the foreshore is positively littered with metal. I guess Fast might be your best option to get between the iron :-/

Personally I wouldn’t bother with the detector, as mentioned above, as eyes only seems the most fun.

I guess you are talking about the big black elliptical coil. Though the white HF should work great with sensitivity lowered. ;)

Lots of machine work on the Thames depends where you are BUT you will never know what you missed...................some spot you could use a ACE 250 or an Explorer other even with a 4" you will miss stuff as the electronic cannot cope as the machine is literally detecting on an iron sheet .

Trust me I tried a lot of machines on the river Thames
