Giz was running in a similar mode to me the but with volume gain near max last time that I spoke to him. I understand that it boosts the smaller signal but I was wondering whether, in combination with the other settings that he is using, it may somehow have been boosting them to sound the same as the larger signals. I can't actually think of any way that I could deliberately set up my machines so that all the signals sound the same size. ::g

Sorry........Vol gain at 30. Sens 24-28. Go into tones then tone profile then I run on 1 tone. I don't like it being a ice cream van on steroids noise. It beep s I dig it. And I do it confuzzzźzed changing from French stick to the 3030 or is it my age and the voices In my head which usually say buy me and then turn out not much different than the last one. Still looking for the magic wand detector. Maybe the equinox if and when it comes out

Different but good quality headphones will definitely help make the fainter sounds clearer and the tones more pleasant on your ears. However, it sounds as though your settings are somehow evening out the signals. Try turning down the gain a bit and see what happens, if that doesn't work try adjusting some of the other volume and tone related settings. They are all quite easy to play with in the field using the display buttons. Let me know how you get on. ::g
Will do Fred.
Not unhappy with the CTX quite the opposite, especially on the beach.

PM me how you got on on the beach. You messing about with the setting has inspired me to look again at what I am doing. I'm driving up to see my mum early tomorrow and might even hit Hunny beach tomorrow if I leave just after Match of the Day! :D

Ah OK.
I like that it beefs up the smaller signals but I feel I'm missing out on that info of whether it's small or deep... The problem I have is that my hearing isn't so great(I was a dj for a number of years and it has affected my hearing. And on top of that the medication I'm on for my arthritis gives me serious tinnitus) so I like to have the volume set at a good level, in fear that I may not even hear the faint signals lol..

LOL what I need is to follow someone around for the day that has good hearing, and call me over when they get a faint signal lol

Hope you get it sorted bud. And keep on with the ctx, comfort will come soon...
Warm regards
