Any one out there is using a Laser Trident 2 extreme?? give us a review I had a Cibola in th past and have been told the Extreme is a Cibola on steroids !!

Not see any in the field. Tesoro/Laser detectors are normally all the same performance wise. Google came back with very little information.

I don't know if it is the case that all Tesoro/Laser detectors are alike so far as performance and features are concerned - (in a reply to your post).
I used the Eldorado (1988 Tin Box model) which is a well regarded, if vintage performer still quite sought after today.
The 'Trident II' (which I owned for some 2 years) is also an excellent machine. The more recent Tesoro/Laser models admittedly, are not seen by some as top-end performers but there is a high regard for some models, especially the Tesoro Tejon which, in my opinion, will show some so called 'high end machines' a clean pair of heels when it comes to comparing performance, cost and simplicity in use! In my book, there's much to be said for simplicity in controls and operation! There are those detector users amongst us, who consider complexity in detector design and operation is 'not a must have' and prefer to 'keep it simple'.

The Tejon was very favourably regarded by 'Gary' who's known for his 'warts 'n all' and totally honest detector reviews. The' Cibola' has been mentioned, again a competent machine in it's own right. I doubt the term 'on steroids' will prove to be very meaningful to any users seriously looking for a change of detector. Regards and Good Luck ss47

Tejon is very good with the 5.75 it is fast and deep ....the tejon is holding well is value as well,Cibola and vaquero when well tuned are deep light machine......never tried any NEL or SEF on the Tejon but i am sure with one of those coils it can compete with the GMP no problem but you dont have different tones.........

I have been lent a Tesoro Compadre, it only has a 7" coil so is not a depth monster BUT is has extremely good iron discrimination, in fact the best I have ever seen and a recovery speed equal to the Makro Racer. On YouTube there are many clips that show the capabilities of Tesoro/Laser machines. If you watch them, there are some simple ways to tune them for very good depth, particularly the machines with a manual ground balance option.

Re. Not seeing many out in the field....you dont see many Lambourginis on the road, but it doesnt mean they are not good cars!

Just bought a Laser Trident 2 Extreme,should be here by the weekend,could well be a very good machine on trashy sites but also still give decent depth on pasture sites,will give some feedback after it has arrived

My first machine was a Cibola and it was great. Light as a feather, great iron disc and plenty deep too. They can be super tuned if I recall (there's a video showing how on Youtube).

Haven't used any other Tesoro/Laser model but all seem to get good reviews. Good luck.

The Laser Trident 2 Extreme turned up today,what a fantastic machine,it really is as light as a feather even with the latest 11x8 Tesoro coil on,its much lighter than my T2,will get a few hours on the clock over the long bank holiday this weekend,this could also take over the crown over time that my T2 has held for a few years.

Must admit i am well pleased with this machine,no screen watching,just back to basics of using a reasonable deep machine but also 'enjoying' detecting again.

Will update how i get on with it,but i still cannot get over how light this machine is,with Tejon power and the newer coil it should be a great combination.

You'll love it! The 'Trident 2 (E)' is a very competent performer so get ready to move the 'T2' onto the back-burner! Enjoy and Good Luck mate Regards ss47

Ive just done a piece on the Compadre that is going to be in the next TH magazine. I really enjoyed not having a meter to look at :-)

I also use a Compadre,well i bought just the control box off the 4 letter website,it had the 5pin coil adaptor fitted rather than the normal hotwire setup.As i had about 4 spare Tesoro/lLaser coils i used a spare straight shaft that i all ready owned and turned it into a machine for river detectingalbeit its not waterproof but becuse of the longer shaft i can wade into rivers upto about 4ft in depth using a smaller coil like the 4'' or 7'' to reduce the drag of the water.

It works very well,the Compadre is a very underrated machine,infact as it only has one knob could be seen as a kiddies toy,its not and in the right environment its deadly on small gold jewellery

@sweepstick47 ,i think you are spot on regarding the 'Extreme' its not a popular machine because its a beep and dig machine without a screen,it could give more expensive machine a good run for the money.

It certainly will bring some fun and excitement back into detecting without having to reply on possible missing target by just looking at the screen.

Of course this is just my opinion,this machine is not for everyone,but i am looking at using it through out the summer and beyond.

Yes,still using a Trident 11 Extreme albeit it will never be my main everyday machine as that crown still belong to the Deus,mainly use the Trident with the small NEL Snake coil on these days as i find it excels on really trashy sites,although i still have the original 11x8 coil which is basically as brand new but wont part with it.

Never used a Dues although they do seem to lead the way , misses uses my rapier but thinking about a change
