Exmouth beach (Devon) this Thursday ???

Post by Bootneck45RM »

Hi

Just a quick shout to see if anyone's about this Thursday (1.2.18) in or near Exmouth for a meet up and natter πŸ˜• and a bit of hoovering on the sand?
Low tides about 13.30 so thought would get there about 10 to 10.30.
Was going to park up as close as possible to the new Life boat area as that section isn't done to often - who knows may find another south Wales hoard!πŸ˜‚! Anyhow if anyone fancies it the weather should be on-side and just look out for the guy with the bright yellow stick.
Don't forget your flask eh!
May see you.πŸ‘

Regards
Len R.

Hi all!

Just thought I'd let you know how Exmouth went today!!!
First off a few hours on the beach in the sun isn't bad even if the wind was a bit whippy.
Finds were not remarkable: mini copper/cork bung for a mini bottle (gawd knows how old - but pretty) tiny copper jeton or disc with indian writing on it - the usual pre and post decimal coins (made mistake of cleaning a couple of decimal one pence pieces - and found they melted and revealed their innards - not sure if thats normal or if they were duds? - lesson learnt there re strength of vinegar mix!!) And - a very nice vintage button from a 1974 blazer (central reserve bank of peru markings) - no value but pretty and proves the 300i does work.
Couldn't fault the weather until I got home and found I needed after-sun IN FEBRUARY!
Thats all for now so hope the sun is shining wherever you are and everyone is lucky in their finds.

Cheers

Glad that you enjoyed it. Beaches are funny places detecting wise. On a slow day you wonder what the hell you are doing there - until you look around. On good days you hardly notice the scenery at all. Either way I can't think of anywhere that I'd rather be! :D
