Wearing hearing aids when using remote.

Post by Paul23 »

Hello.
I am new to this game and are currently looking at various machines to buy. The Deus seems to me to get good revues. I have to wear hearing aids, which are Bluetooth operated. Often when I am about to get a text message coming throug to my phone, I get some interference on my hearing aids. I was thinking as the Deus, and a lot of other machines are going the same direction, being remote controlled, will this, and for that matter using the detector machine interfere with my hearing aids? I hope someone can help as I don't want to invest a lot of money only to find I cannot use it
Perhaps I will have to wait for me to locate a local person with such like machine if no one can help me on the forum.
I realise I could switch off my hearing aids, but there again if someone is offering me a pint I won't hear them!
Thanking you in anticipation.

Hello paul

Yes true each detecter has its own frequency and will probably interfere with hearing aid devices, there is a post on these forums that discuss this issue and there are a few ways to work around these problems.

Not an expert myself but thought i would give the link that might help you out, also try googling "Deus and hearing aids" or "metal detecters and hearing aids interference" etc etc.

There was a professional article about hearing aids and detectors on MDF about 3-4 years ago.

Might be worth trying to find it. ::g Jerry.

Thanks for the replies. The article is interesting, though some years old. I have some upto date hearing aids that are better than the NHS ones issued. I consider myself lucky on that score.
