Wireless XP Deus headphones

Post by PeakDetectorist »

Hi

When I bought my Deus, I didn't go for the wireless headphones in order to save a little money but the wired headphones that I have got are absolutely doing my head in!

Can anybody recommend any aftermarket wireless headphones that are compatible? If not I will just have to source an original set if the price is reasonable.

Thanks

What's the problem with the wired ones? Is it just that they are wired?

Yes, I just find it difficult to keep the wire out of the way and it keeps getting snagged etc

Only Xp headphones will work with the Deus wireless system.
You could try a system like the Garrett Z-link, not sure if it would add any delay to the signal response, plus you would have a transmitter box on Deus remote.

If funding is a problem you could use the official XP lightweight wired backphones ref 3 FX02.

They are super lightweight and they work well for only about £12.

Alternatively talk to our friend Tony Hunt at Detectorbits.01202870079.

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.

Not sure of your set up, but using the XP blue wired backphones with the controller in a pocket works well with any surplus wire secured out of the way. Digging targets just by the tones is often more productive. ;)

Very good they are too. I often use them with the WS4 puck and jack adaptor placed in my pocket, mainly because they're so lightweight without the puck attached that I find them more comfortable to wear for long sessions.

Thanks for the replies, I have got the XP wired headphones and they work well it’s just the wire.

Good advice regarding the controller, I never thought about putting it in my pocket! That will be a lot better to manage.

I will probably buy the proper XP wireless ones sometime soon, I just initially thought it was a lot of extra money for little benefit.

I like the WS4 backphones very much. They are light and of course wireless so I just forget they are there. ( Until that is they switch off after 5 hours continuous use ! )

I have a set of WS4 headphones and they work 'ok' but i still prefer my WS5 full cup ones as that in my mind cuts out almost all the back ground noise, possibly not the best situation in very hot weather, but then i use the WS module running 'sennheiser in ear headphones' and that does work exceptionally well.

Always have liked the XP wired back phones for the price they cannot be beaten audio wise, they really are superb quality and that all important inline volume control, dont always use them but always carry them as a backup or when i use a non Deus setup.

Just an idea ):=

There is an XP armband that can be used which you place the RC unit into and the headphone cable will run up under the sleeve and up the arm.

You place the armband on your forearm and are still able to use the RC but without the hassle of headphone cables which will run up under the shirt/jacket etc.

I'm another fan of the WS4's. I never use the headband, I have 4 different styles of headphones for different weather and conditions and the puck just goes in the top pocket with the cable out of the way. Works brilliantly and it's so versatile.
