The best thing was on frequency - simple rule, go higher if the site is dry and lower if it’s very wet. And that low kHz will allow you to find a hoard of Roman coins on their side but higher will clean up single poor Roman coins a few inches down.
That's the best snippet of advice I've seen for a while - thanks Cath - will defo try it out:)

I would think Codan (Minelab) might have the copyright & the like on such abilities tied up rather well. ::g

XP have a fantastic product......as do other manufacturers with their products

As stated earlier in the thread around workmen blaming their tools, any machine is only as good as the person swinging it, also not fixing what isn't broke.

Imagine being on the grid with Lewis Hamilton in an identical car, how do you think that would end up?

It takes time to learn any machine and is dependant on the person willing to put the time in, some good finds have been made by lower budget detectors, an expensive top of the price scale will have a slight advantage possibly but still comes back to the "nut" holding the handle.

Too many newbies are not learning enough from their starter machine and getting frustrated thinking a more expensive detector will find them the pot of gold they dream of

Regards Steve

How was the skill school?

So what if it's one Roman coin on it's side....but it's wet? :D
