hi Fred, without wishing to pry too much information as I believe we live in a similar area - are these different spots on the same beach or different beaches and areas equal as far as tourist traffic concerned?

Grateful for any advice you can give!

Best regards

Almost all beaches have a similar potential. For me it is simply a case of knowing through experience when, where and how to look. This is often known as reading the beaches. ::g

Best of luck and do say hello if you bump into me. :D

Thanks Fred, i'm starting to read the beaches (probably just the basics such as detecting cuts etc) and the diagrams have been great on these forums - a real help for sure.

I guess what i'm asking is in terms of the beaches, do you know if lost coins / jewlerry etc are localised to beaches stuff was was lost on, or whether coins etc could be swept round the coast to non tourist areas?

We have loads of cut off areas to detect, i wonder if those were worth a punt?

If i bump into you fella, i shall certainly say hi (i normally greet all fellow detectorists actually on my travels) :)

I don't think stuff tends to move very far from where it is lost. When the conditions are right anywhere can produce and anyway we seldom really know what has happened on beaches in the past. 👍
