Hi, if you take a look at a sunray probe switch for a minelab e trak, you may be able to make a switch for the ctx. The sunray switch is for a probe but you can attach a second coil instead and switch from coil to coil as required.

I'll look into that when I get home I think, but will not be giving up my ctx3030

Adam17, as a carry option have a look at the Eberlestock range of backpacks. These are in essence a backpack with rifle sheath in the back. You could use the sheath for the detector. They are expensive, well made and overly heavy for a backpack in my experience. I have used both the Phantom and Gunslinger series packs for several years for their intended purpose. The sheath part is well designed, large enough to carry a scoped tactical rifle in so a detector with a 6” coil should not be an issue and can on the Phantom series be detached from the rest of the pack so could just carry your detector if the rest of the pack was not needed for waterproofs, good and drink etc.

Now that sounds a plan, I'll be looking into that too when I get in.. Thanks muchly.

Regardless of how long the coins have been buried either coil should eat those targets alive. I would double check your settings.

I've tried pretty much every permutation possible. All four options on target separation, recovery fast, deep, (even seawater) on and off, different patterns and open screen, pretty much all tone profiles except 1 tone, Vol Gain at anywhere 15 up to 30, Vol Limit at 12 to 30 depending on headphones used, Sensitivity on Auto +3 to manual 15 to 30, Noise Cancel auto and all manual channels, and ground balance off and on! If I've missed a magical combination of the above I'd be surprised.

Nothing hits that coin on the testbed And I know it's there!
