Garrett on the beach
Been using my original garrett pin pointer on the beach recently and when the sand is wet it goes crazy. Been reading about some pinpointers are pi which would be better on the beach? Anyone know which makes/models are pi or VLF? Thanks

Maybe a bit late but I use a GP Pointer on the beach and it does the job brilliantly.

When I use my Garrett pinpointer on the beach this is the sequence I use and have no problems with instability:-
1. Turn on the pinpointer in the air, away from all metal.
2. Touch the pinpointer to the sand, about 8" away from the target area.
3. While keeping it on the sand, press the button once. This balances the pointer.
3. Pinpoint as usual to find the target.
Doing this may save you the cost of another pinpointer!
