If you have no luck with a buddy and want to meet people to then poss find a buddy. Central Serchers hold weekly rallies generally in camb / northants area. It's £20 for non member and you have to have public liability insurance. Good luck.

I'd be up for joining you, am in Cambridge so not too far. Just got a detector, mostly for my 9 year old to use, and it would be great to try it out on a permission. Currently we've only got the garden to practice in.

Ok, let's see if we can arrange a meet up sometime. Do you have any permissions?

Absolute beginner, only got one for Christmas, first detector I've had for probably 30 years. The one I've got is mainly for my little boy, I'm hoping to pick up a decent one secondhand. I only have Sam at weekends, but I've got plenty of holiday left so could do a midweek. I've got high hopes of a permission on a farm near Chittering, if you know where that is. I know the guy who used to own it, haven't been in touch for a few years but if I can contact him I'm sure he can pull a few strings.

There's a club in St Neots, probably a bit too far for me but should be handy for you.

The club in st.neots only had one dig a year , I'm not sure if that has changed , I know ed set up another club but I think that's more towards Northampton.
