There is a printing error in the MI6 User Manual. "When the LED is switched off, the start up flashes will remain". No they don't. Nigel has confirmed to me that if you choose to switch off the LED then you do not get the battery indication flashes upon startup. I think I will turn my LED back on because the current drain is very small and the battery indication is useful.
