Still learning about my new Deus

Post by pengles »

Had my Deus light for a few months now and being retired have been out with it many, many times. Being as light as a feather can detect for hours, and have been running it on GMP programme whilst learning, basic 3 tones etc. I've done one field time and time again and was struggling to find anything else. Tried Deus fast for the first time and found 6 (just 1800's and early 1900's) halfpennies and pennies in a relatively small area that I thought had been emptied by me. Of course, I might just have missed them the first twenty times, but get a feeling the 'fast' programme is doing the trick. what a clever machine....

If you feel confident with the machine you can now start tweaking a few things to see the effects, I've had my Deus now for 3 years and still learning and tweaking settings with my favorite program, on a target I toggle to different programs to see if there is a prog that will sing out better

No field is done to death, you will always find something, its dependent on a lot of factors, soil moisture content swing the coil from a different angle and height of the coil than previous pass, its easy to miss stuff

always slow up over known hot spots and listen for the tones you missed the first time ::g

I've had my Deus for around a year and i am still baffled by it sometimes x; but i've had some excellent finds, so i'm not complaining at all. I've read the hand book and eventually tried a few tweaks, so as to minimise iron digging. Like Steve T , I swap programs over a signal, the tones seem different but the numbers indicated on the remote stay the same? I like the lack of weight on this detec, you can keep going longer, ::g so it's a case of keep on trying and experimenting, but I still go back to basic 1, it does seem to do the job. Good luck.

Hi pengles. I've had my Deus since June and, like you am finding my way around it. I toggle through some of the programmes over a good signal just to hear the variations. I usually use fast and, or hot both on the 'x and y' screen. This gives you the sound and also with it a better idea what the item could be. The other great thing about this hobby is that people like to help and often give me tips on various settings, so I often save them as new programmes. Added to that all the things on utube can help. It's a very light machine too which helps me through the day. I don't have to be a weight lifter to use it.
Hope you get to some great finds soon.
Paul.
