Not nessary, you need to go over it first.
The Deus will give you lots more options in the way of programmes and frequency choice, of course remember if you are stuck or overwhelmed with the Deus, just ask.
Bob

Simple answer - Yes.
You will likely find more targets using the Deus though they may not be mostly what you seek.
Stick to whatever you enjoy using, the grass is not always greener.

We all like to think we find more, better targets with a more expensive machine. Proving it is another matter

Hi jeromep.
A picture of your finds would be nice to see.
With regards detectors the arguments about purchasing success have been going on for decades.
Having been around the block longer than most folks, I would suggest that purchasing the best detector that a user can afford will pay off.
I used to be a Mineleab nut until Alain Loubet brought out the XP Deus and that changed everything.
Briefly we found a field that was a detectorists dream and every stubble season we would find more coins and artifacts going back 2000 years.
This went on for about 4 years with up to 5 people on the hunts but then the finds fizzled out.
10 years ago I purchased one of the very first Deus (At the time called a ladies machine).
Its opened up a whole new season as it was picking out small finds previously masked by the Ferrous that we had left behind.
Having seen what happened to us nearly all WHRADA members purchased a Deus and the rest is history.
There are pf course other excellent machines out there to suit all pockets, its a whole new world these days from when we started out.
Happy Hunting,
Jerry.
