Setting the GB accurately on a Deus lite?

Post by AnalogueSkywalker »

Can anyone tell me how to accurately GB my new Deus lite? I know how to change the numerical GB value, but how do i know when i have it set bang on?

I am using version 5.2

Any guidance would be humbly/gratefully received... cheers.

Page 14 in the manual, then change programme to the one you want to use. Go back into ground and adjust manually to the reading given in programme 10.

Unless you are on seriously mineralised land you shouldn’t need to change GB :-/

Thanks Oxgirl, i think my local sites are low to medium on the mineralisation front.

Tbh i have been using the Deus with all of the pre set programs and settings, and getting good results, so i am not in a huge rush to buy a remote control box. The Deus lite, to my mind, already has a fair bit of adjustability through the improved settings menu (in version 5). Thus far, i am more than happy with this. I reserve the right to change my mind at any time, though. I can live with any loss of performance, for now.

I came to the Deus from a Laser Trident 2 and Tesoro Tejon, so i am not a huge one for VDI numbers. I use my ears, the audio and spade for discrimination... probably a good job, because from what i have seen so far, the Deus is not the best at solid VDI numbers, or indeed highly accurate discrimination.

Not knocking the Deus, i genuinely love it. Its many other good points far outweigh its one or two weaker attributes. The light weight, ergonomics and ability to change frequency etc are a joy. Really enjoying the MI6 pinpointer too, the bluetooth connection streamlines my little operation 😎
