Think I've got a problem with my deus lite
Think I've got a problem with my deus lite
Evening all...
I have the Deus lite running on 5.2 with the 11inch LF coil....long story short had daughter's birthday party today and they wanted to see how a detector worked so I buried a George penny at around 8/9inches and I could not touch it with any program whatsoever.
I tried everything I could think of to no avail. I've only had it around 2/3 months so am very new to the Deus and it's been a massive learning curve coming from a makro racer.
Its been suggested that it may need a reset? But I have no idea what that means lol I was given the coil and brought ws4 and everything else and regtons kindly put the 5.2 on for me .
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions
Thanks in advance
Paul
P.s I have tried it in different soils incase it was down to mineralisation but had same results

That’s fairy deep so would only be a whisper of a tone maybe. You could have also trapped air in the hole reducing the signal.
Try it on top of the soul then 3-4” then work your way deeper until you cant hear it. I’m sure it’s at its maximum at 8-9”.

Do an air test with the George penny, you should get it at about 12 inches.

Thanks for the replies gents much appreciated
.
I can air test to around 7/8inches but here's the strange thing I get penny's half pennies and cartwheels all at same depth silver sixpence I get around 6 inches

Check your settings, Sensitivity and Reactivity are the two main adjustments which affect depth.Browny666 wrote: Sun Mar 24, 2019 9:19 pm Thanks for the replies gents much appreciated.

Did u try a different freq, what sens woz it I have heard that the x35 doesn't like a high sens ? also what woz the silencer set on .... try -1/0 , reactivity if there's not loads of iron try 1/2 , audio volume try a higher no say 5 /6 I woz getting a very faint signal and a mate with a G 300i woz getting it banging I thought what's !!!!!!! going on upped audio volume ....banging signal .... a lot of people say dues arnt renowned for there depth...but are very good at getting inbetween iron/ targets... i have a test bed where to b honest the dues struggles....with nothing silly deep and on some targets there s multiple bronze coins and it still doesn't get them with the standard old 9" on what ever u set it standard or factory setting .....put the old 13 coil on a different kettle of fish on deep program suprisinly woz out performing a certain ml machine with standard 11 " coil....I now tend to use the dues on freshly ploughed land and the other machine on stubble/ grass/ beach ... good luck, build a test bed put iron near stuff and stagger target iron depths to see what u get signal wise ... let it settle then keep a log on your findings see if they improve with age of bed

should be an easy 12" in air.
let's get this sorted before we add the variable of the ground.

Deus doesn't save the base programmes. Switching off and back on again will reset them
Just make sure your using one of the base programs
Deus doesn't like being switched on or off when close to metal, can cause erratic behaviours

Thank you for replies sorry been a long day lol.
I able to air test a penny now at 14inches and slowly starting to get the signal with the penny in the garden I've lowered my ground balance and it seems that may of been the problem it was set at 90.
I've panicked myself because of all the settings etc.
I've just learnt I can get a ground reading using program 10 and pumping.
I honestly did now realise how much ground balance can affect depth even if you only a couple of numbers out.
I've got a lot more learning to do more complicated than I could ever of imagined

An xp link on gb......http://www.xpmetaldetectors.com/blog-de ... ance-talk/
I believe always be over the gb no..... e.g. reading 82 i believe u can b up to 5 over without too much of an issue 82-87 I would prob go 85 so allowing for a little variation or u could try "tracking " in the gb settings.... do a test bed of coins and have a play
I have noticed that since being on v5.2-803 that the land we do is majority of the time is reading 78 ( im sure it used to b a lot higher 84 on v4.1 springs to mind ???)I used to do as Gary b said """88-90 would cope with most of uk """ but i now find myself knocking it down to 82 rightly or wrongly ????

I set my GB at 81 today and I detected an area I gridded last week I was plucking coins out at some very impressive depths...I watched alot of videos when I first got machine and 95% of them said to leave the GB at 90 its factory preset after playing around and testing I found a GB of 90 loses me a hell of alot of depth
