Types of coil that may be sold with 2nd hand Deus Lite?

Post by Paulrox »

Hi I am hoping to buy a Deus Lite in a few months , I’m aware there are newer hf coils , then x35 the im guessing older 1st generation ones .

Are there any inherent problems with 1st generation and Is it best to look for X35 ones
Also I kinda like 9 “ coils as I like coin hunting on dry beach but also wet too. I see quite a few advertised with an 11” coil would that still be as good for coins n jewellery on the beach, especially when trashy in the summer, I imagine the Deus Fast recovery speed will help out on areas with multiple trash and treasure.

Are coils easy to id? I don’t want to be paying over the odds for a first gen. when I could get an x35 or hf .

Thanks for any help 👍

There is nothing wrong with the first generation black coils. I use both the 9 and 11" with no problems what so ever. In fact I struggle to use the higher frequency coils on my land because of the chatter.

The HF coils are white with the X35 coils black like the first generation so you may not know by looking which one it is. I really wouldn't worry about the first generation unless they are really old and the batteries getting to the end of their life. Even that is not the end of the world as they are replaceable.

Very true ::g

As with everything, the latest version is always going to seem more appealing, but just look at what has been, and continues to be, found with the original coils!

Old type coils are fine...check on age as after say 5yrs+ u might get battery issues( but u might get the same from a newer coil if they havnt charged it in a yr )...I think the machine has a 5yr warranty but the batterys I believe is 2yrs?...personally I'd now do for the 11 as used to 11 on another detector and ull get a knats more coverage.... .sand wise they are fine on dry and I tend to use normal muck program for that.....wet sand I've never had much luck on with the dues tried 9/13/hf and never really got much depth and on factory and my own variations of wet beach might just b the beach's I've used it on though ....had a pi then got a fbs detector now for the beach ....good luck on the journey ::g

Nothing wrong with the original 11" coil. Had mine for 5 years and just had the batteries replaced by Regtons. Found me loads of good stuff too. ::g

Excellent, thank you all very much , just the information I needed. Ok on the batteries I have seen regton do a good replacement battery service for all the items that take them WS4 /5 ,coil etc .

I have seen some great deals on nearly New DEUS lite come and go so now I am armed with the info off here I know I can purchase wisely when I have saved up a bit more.

Thanks for the concise help. I have learned more on this forum about the deus than any others on the net. Like how to get a ground reading on a lite using program 10 then use the numbers gained in another program.

Thank you..... Paul
