more odd beach finds

Post by HairySporran »

At first I thought it was a coin but after cleaning it is a dog tag advising the animal it belonged to was microchipped.

Also found a 1 Rupee coin. Not sure how that ended up on the beach.

Everytime I'm out I find about a dozen pieces of copper wire cut from 2" to 4" in length. They are scattered along the entire length of the beach. I suspect someone doesn't like metal detecting. :(

Probably trimmed ends of multi-core cables coming apart and spread by tide.

I think the cut wires are intentional. They are about a #10 gauge solid copper and spread across about 1 mile in length of beach. I've found about 50 so far and more every time I go out. This is somebody trying to thwart us detectorists.

Nice finds, sorry to hear about the anti detector chaff, someone has gone to a great deal of trouble to deter people , while also filling the beach with more rubbish , people are very strange. It does sound like the sort of trick elderly or middle aged people get up to when they have a bee in their bonnet unfortunately . Hope it is soon resolved
