Is it good practise to turn off mobile phones whilst detecting? Hadn’t really thought of it before but WiFi, Bluetooth etc must have an effect.
I’m just getting into the Deus and my x35 coil is rather lively. However I’m still in the tinkering stage with it.
Do you switch your phones off?

No I don’t and never have. Can’t say I’ve ever noticed a problem with any of my Detectors and they include the Deus.

I do sometimes. I have an old phone and occasionally when it seems to be struggling to find a signal it can interfere with my Nox.

Same for me, although my phone is only 2 or 3 years old.fred wrote: Sun Jul 28, 2019 3:49 am I do sometimes. I have an old phone and occasionally when it seems to be struggling to find a signal it can interfere with my Nox.![]()

I suppose the only interference is when it rings lol.
Just thought it worth a mention, what with the Deus being wireless and whatnot. So many signals in our airwaves.

I do. It might be my imagination but when I turn off my phone I seem to get clearer signals with sharper discrimination.

I’m at a new permission that is highly mineralised in places and have been detecting it for a few days. The owner suggested I take my phone with me in case I got into difficulties. So I do. Whilst detecting in one of the fields I noticed that occasionally my Nox chattered away on the end of a right hand swing. I thought this was mineralisation so reduced the sensitivity which then helped. It wasn’t until the second day I thought that it might be my phone as it always did the chattering on the right hand swing.
My phone is in my front right trouser pocket. As an experiment I moved my phone to the back right pocket and guess what... no more chatter! So in my case my phone can affect my signal.
I could leave it behind but should I need it I’d be stuffed.
