Df Dude,
Eventually i have your ID for the coin from Dane Kurth herself from www.wildwinds.com

Sorry, I just noticed the attachment of the coin image from your friend,

The legend is very worn but from the shape of the bust (as in head and shoulders :-P) and the size of the radiate crown plus the fact that it was found in England, I would say it is either Tetricus II or his father, Tetricus I.
A lot of their types can be found on wildwinds:
Tetricus I: http://wildwinds.com/coins/ric/tetricus_I/i.html
Tetricus II, his son; http://wildwinds.com/coins/ric/tetricus_II/i.html

Congrats lol

Dane just emailed me a direct link to your coin saves us having to scroll through loads of them!
Ancient imitations of Tetricus II. Garbled legends.
Spes type reverse: SPES AVGG, Spes standing left, holding flower and raising hem of robe. This type:

Note: These were imitated in numerous village and forest mints all over England to cover a dire shortage of currency.
