Hi Nigel it is my understanding that the batteries for both the coil and the remote are the same size if they are not then XP in France are misleading buyers.Nigel at regtons wrote:Yes we do still sell the batteries, self fit, genuine XP batteries are £31.95 for remote or headphones, the coil battery is a different story, it really needs to be done by an XP repair agent as there are many potential pitfalls some can scrap the coil altogether![]()
Hope this helps.

Just to add to some of the questions on battery longevity, I have recently sold my Deus with the large and small coil which I have had for over 5 years and the Batteries were still in good shape and holding charge... Over n Out...

Your understanding is correct, they are all the same battery, why on earth do think XP are misleading anyone ?metal-detective wrote:Hi Nigel it is my understanding that the batteries for both the coil and the remote are the same size if they are not then XP in France are misleading buyers.Nigel at regtons wrote:Yes we do still sell the batteries, self fit, genuine XP batteries are £31.95 for remote or headphones, the coil battery is a different story, it really needs to be done by an XP repair agent as there are many potential pitfalls some can scrap the coil altogether![]()

Been having trouble with my 9 inch coil, thought it was a battery issue as it was coming up no coil on the remote but would find it when on charge. Charged it up fully about 5 days ago and tested it tonight, no coil on remote again. Finds the 11 inch coil instantly but won't find the 9 when I switch between the 2 coils. Connected coil clip and tried again and it found it within 5 seconds. Pulled the cable from the clip as soon as the remote and coil were paired and it shows full battery. Looks like I'm having pairing problems when I power up.
Anyone ever had the same problem? Any idea Nigel?

To answer the many & varied questions.
Yes we have all batteries in stock, yes we can supply or we can fit entirely up to you apart from coil battery kit which is a little more difficult & I would certainly NOT recommend anyone undertakes this lightly.
Punka$$, your problem may be software related, update & then run the coil battery completely flat ie you can't log into the coil, after re-charging it should have 'reset the battery level indicator'. If you continue to have problems try charging from another source ie PC rather than mains plug, & try single update lead rather than triple lead, what you are doing is taking items out of the equation to be left with what is wrong if you follow my drift.
Many people think they need a new battery, put 2 & 2 together presuming it must be battery, how about mains adaptor undercharging, maybe a bad lead, a bad clip if it's coil, also how about charging circuit within coil ? When we change batteries we go through many checks to try & eliminate the other possible problems so not a simple battery swap after all !

Thanks Nigel, few things there I haven't tried yet. I have done a software update, the first time it didn't work as it didn't find the coil, had to do it again with it charging. Will try and run it flat and see how that goes. Didn't want to pay out for a battery if that's not the problem.
Thanks again for all the help and will let you know how it goes

It will pair up straight away when it is connected to the charger. As soon as it has connected and I take off the coil clip it shows full battery. So it should be simple to drain it completelyCherryhunter wrote:How do you go about running it flat without using it...will surly take weekspunka$$ wrote:Thanks Nigel, few things there I haven't tried yet. Just a general "safety" tip for those thinking of sticking in £10 batteries from China etc....don`t leave them charging unattended or overnight as some have a tendency to overheat with dire consequences.

Opinions expressed on MY posts are mine and NOT those of any democratic organisation I volunteer for.
