Gary has posted a new video as part of his Deus challenge, two Deus user's on a Roman site go head to head, one a V2 user and one a V4.1 user.

Not quite sure what anything other than a scientifically controlled experiment/test under lab conditions can tell us, but looking forward to seeing the vid none the less.

A fantastic video ... two detectorists having a great day out on a Roman site, but little more to conclude other than both machines picked up targets. Not sure why the vid is called "XP Deus Challenge" because there was no challenge ... great site, great conditions, with both machines easily picking out obvious targets (sadly they didnt show us the junk that was dug).
All in all an enjoyable, well put together, and well edited video, but I didnt learn anything new.

Not watched it but if they just dug their own separate targets and did not even compare machines over the same iffy/ faint targets what's the point? On a Roman site it is more likely about target separation from the iron, so a no brainer. Sounds like just an XP promo. x;

Yes a bit of a sales vid ... but it was more about Deus than pitching different models against each other. I liked the bit where one of the chaps said "I moved to the Deus because my mate was finding more than me". But still a watchable vid, think that one of the persons in the vid did a vid on dousing.

Pity they did only 1 comparison right at the end....I thought they were going to do a head to head which I think would of been better...it would of been good to see if the 9" hf would of got all the targets the 13 on v2 woz getting :D

Just watched the Deus 'Challenge' video and have to say that if you are a Deus user it was quite informative. It's not aimed at other type machine users.

In all fairness ... it was stated to be a Roman site, but no mention that they then edited out much of the junk!! Fact is that if one only sees the good finds ... and not the junk, then one is unable to form any opinion whatsoever ... other than they are showing us what they think we want to see. Hey ho, at least we have this forum where the record can be set straight!!! OooO OooO OooO OooO
Chap says that they are going to compare signals and targets ... not sure what that means exactly ... but as the vid pans out there was a significant lack of comparison... but loved all the blarney.

It seemed more of a small coil, higher frequency and faster response VS the opposite, rather than comparing software versions. Why not have the V2 in 18khz with a 9" coil? It just demonstrated that a larger coil has inferior target separation, and sounded like it was on a low reactivity setting also, maybe the worst set up they could go for on V2 for that site. Ok, they stated which program V4.1 was using but not what program or settings V2 was using? And where was the supposed air test of the last target? Hardly anything to base a purchase decision on. :))
