I have just bought a GMP, so on a mission to understand its language. Very early days but looking promising. Yesterday evening I managed to pull a 15mm diameter, thin, copper button out from a very naily area with it.
The GMP is clearly so different from my E-Trac, that I dont think I will have trouble switching between the two detectors. The E-Trac is definitely staying put though.
I am aware of the XP WS2 wireless back-phones, that members on here recommend. However at £140, I was wondering whether a suitable alternative exists that can be paired with the GMP ?
I am currently using the XP Blue Back-phones wired to the detector. I also have other wired sets available but having been wireless with my E-Trac for some time, I much prefer wireless.
Wireless Headphones Alternative ?

I've used several sets of wired headphones on mine but none sounded as good as the dedicated wireless headphones XP sell, it might be an idea to borrow some 'phones from fellow detectorists to see how they sound to you?
I also knocked up a set of wireless headphones to fit a Macro Racer and a few other machines I own, namely some Turtle Beach X32's, they are fantastic on all my machines but are garbage on my GMP, hence why I eventually shelled out for some WS3's.

And there are lots of copies around too. If the price is cheap please be very carefulGROBERT45 wrote: Mon Aug 13, 2018 10:03 pm Hi, mate look on eBay a set buy it now for £85.00 with free p + p and 3 months warranty.

I bought a set of these from Detectorbits for my E-Trac, about eight months ago and have used them a lot.
2.4 RF Deteknix Wire free Headphones Kit for use on your Favourite Headphones.
[ ID: 104213 ]
Wireless your own favourite detecting Headphones.
Could have got them a bit cheaper if I had bought from Tony via MDF Shop
.
I emailed Tony Hunt to ask whether they would work with the GMP. Tony advised that they would, so I tried them this morning, with the XP Blue wired back-phones and they worked a treat. Very clear and plenty of volume too.
Evidently this wire free kit will work with any detector that has a jack plug socket.
I shall use this set-up whilst getting used to the GMP's language and save my cash for later.
