Gmp program edit ok?

Post by Apfelsaft »

Hello Everyone,

I am detecting metals since 2004 and since 2006 onwards with the help of my XP Goldmaxx Power(still have it as backup).

I am using the Deus for only 2 months now and therefore would like you to take a quick look at the program I am detecting with.

Program 2 GMP:
Disk-1,2
Sens 92->TX power 2
Freq 12,3->5 Töne:
120 -1,2
120 -1,2-10
400 10-31
565 31-85
733 85-99
Ironvol 3 (without function anyway)
Reactivity 2
Silencer -1
Audioresp 5
GB Pumping->GB Notch 86

Do you think running a negative disk like -1,2 is worth it in terms of depth gain or should I raise it to 3,5?

Greetings from Merkelny :-&

Personally im not the type, that go changing settings and things so frequently.. But since I use GMP 99 % of the time, I do change little on settings..
All I do is lower discrimination to 4, 5 or 6... And set sensitivity little higer around 94 - 95.. (also dependig on soil) then I change to 4 tone,, rest I leav to fabric setting..

Hello Danzigman,

Thanks for your opinion.

Changing little to nothing on the
factory gmp-program is of course very comfortable to detect with in terms of stability and filtering out a huge amount of unwanted signals especially on iron infested sites.

But if a spot is pretty clean I like detecting it with a more "open" setting to catch deeper targets as well.

As I use the GMP setting on my Deus 99% of the time here are my settings (which I have shared before), Disc set to 5,
Full tones (sometimes 5 tones)
Frequency to 12kHz (sometimes + or - shift depending on pinpointed interference)
Ground Balance to 88
and thats it. These settings serve me very well so am happy to leave them.

Good luck and happy hunting with your Deus.

P.S. I am still on v3.2. Too many poor stories about upgrading just yet.
Remember, there is no 'X' marks the spot!

Nothing wrong with that, in my opinion, Apfelsaft ::g

My general search program is also based on GMP, but has fewer tweaks. Audio Response gets boosted to 5, and manual GB set to 86, also on 5 tones. Everything else is left at factory settings.

I'm on V3.2, but I've used negative discrimination quite a bit on V4.1. With a zero setting in V3.2, or -6.4 in V4.1, I have to say I've never noticed the alleged depth gain that it brings, either on the testbed or in the field :-/

Hello Mancave-man and Buriedbytime&dust,

Thanks to both of you for letting me know your gmp parameters.

According to your replies I will simply stick to my setup ::g
