Advice please

Has anyone had an older version of the cscope cs2mx? I haven't used mine for a while but when I turn it on, the initial alarm won't turn off, I have changed the batteries (albeit for ones I'm not sure are all fully charged till I get new ones) but it's still happening.

Has anyone come accross this, does it sound knackered?
