CTX3030 headphones to Equinox adaptor

Post by GeorgeMK »

Does anyone in the UK make an adaptor to allow me to use my CTX3030 waterproof headphones with my Equinox?

I have seen adaptor cables listed in the USA and Italy, but they are very expensive and I don’t need the extra cable length, I just need an adaptor to connect the CTX3030 plug into the Equinox socket.

A quick Google suggests it's a M12-8PMM-IP68 which means the female equivalent "socket" would be an M12-8PMM-IP68 which is what you would need as part of an converter...

I think you would struggle to get a converter plug as such, but would probably need to go with a short lead with the appropriate plug and socket on each end...

There are definitely plug converters about. Unfortunately I got mine from Maplins which has now gone bust. The short leads are OK too. The problem with any adaptor is likely to be the connections being vulnerable to wobble and pulling out if connected directly to the machine. If I wanted to use a larger plug I would also use the WM08 wireless unit so the adapters are sitting in a pocket and not subject to movement or strain. :D

This photo shows the Nox and CTX connectors. The CTX is a screw in connector with 8 pins, the Nox socket is also screw in but with a central stereo pin.

Circa £130 for a second set of waterproof headphones is a bit of a kick from Minelab to people that own both machines.

Apologies. My reply was irrelevant b*******. :D

I thought that you were referring to reusing the waterproof headphones that you had previously used with the CTX not the Minelab's purpose built own brand ones with the underwater connector. rl;
