looking for a buddy Caithness Wick Thurso Scotland area

Post by McQuarrie1982 »

Hi

Moved to Wick a few months back and formerly lived in Fochabers on the spew-side river area and have done plenty of metal detecting in past few years.

I have a Garrat Ace250 and a cheap but reliable pinpointer and would like to team up with like-minded detecters like myself and get to know the place and get back out there and enjoy the hobby again after such a big move in my life.

Strange thing for me with my Ace250 is it's ment to be great on land but rubbish on sand but I have always had great luck on sand wih it and rubbish luck on land with it lol.
Found many things from WW1 and WW2 and from the late 1800's but the local museum checked my finds and deemed them to be intresting but nothing of worth to themselfs but to myself they my finds and often get lost in silly day dreams with questions in my head like's of (how did it get lost and end up where I dug it or how long ago did they loose it and did anyone else in the past ever find it then latter loose it themself) lol see silly thing's.

Anyways hope to meet some life long friends on here who share my love for this hobby. ::g

Don’t worry about it mate, I’m a relative newbee myself and found it hard to pair up with someone when I first posted.
(Still haven’t 😂).
When you add up the three permissions I have they come to over 300 acres and to be honest sticking with the forum for finds ID and research plus tips ect it’s a brilliant site.
I’m assuming most people don’t want to share their permissions which is understandable.
Now I just go out on my own and I’m more than happy with it.
If you’re ever in the Lanarkshire area pm me and we can meet up.
P.s I’ve also got the ace 250 and i fitted a nel tornado coil to it, a massive difference.
Cheers.
