Hurricane Sebastian heading for South coast beaches

Post by sweepstick47 »

For the last couple of days, warnings have been issued regarding the strengthening of the weather front bringing Hurricane Sebastian across the Atlantic towards the UK's South/South West Coastal areas which is likely to affect the Welsh coast too.

As severe coastal weather conditions can be an attractive prospect for beach detecting, anyone considering such activity in those areas during the next week or so, would be well advised to consider taking extra safety precautions due to the many and various hazards that can result e.g. Gale Force winds, Extreme Tides, Flooding, Fallen Trees and of course Cliff Falls to name but a few.

Don't get caught out, safety first always ::g Regards ss47

I am 5 minutes from the sea front and we have been issued with a warning....
Last time my house was flooded was 1981 when our old sea wall broke during the perfect storm conditions

Thanks Eric for the timely and always useful 'heads up', seems down this end (SW) we may be luckier and get away with high winds and rain until 3 pm tomorrow.

Len

Blimey Bruce, Whilst that's handy for beach detecting, let's just hope this one is not as severe as the storms of 1981 then! :-SS Of course, I know all the precautions will be in place. ::g Regards ss47

They are forecasting 22ft waves for the South coast, so unless you are 23ft tall stay away. :;@
