I have a couple of custom programs in my Deus that I had found to be exactly what I want for 99% of my detecting. When I "created" them I just went to any existing program, changed things like Reactivity/Silencer/Tones/Frequency etc then saved and named the changes in a spare slot.
Recently I have been watching some of Sids and Garys You tube videos and notice they say that certain factory set programs use different filters, and to add one of their programs, "start from Fast or Deep" or whatever it may be.
Does anyone know if it is important to start from a certain program to create a custom one or could we start from Basic or Beach for example, and still change everything to make a "Sonar" or "Hammy" if we wanted to?
Creating new program. Which platorm to start from.

My understanding is as follows:
The Deus Standard Programs are all based on a set of internal filters, set by the manufacturer within the Deus Control Unit [they are not accessable to the user].
Program Six - [Deep from the Deus factory menu, uses V2 filters] - a slightly different filtering to the other programs. Its effect is a little more “punchy” sacrificing just a touch of reliable Iron rejection.
Program Nine [Hot from the Deus factory menu, uses V3.2 filters].
Therefor the user has a variety of different filtering options available to use as a baseline for their own modified programes. Some people prefered Version 2, others prefered Version 3 and many are content to use the latest filters Version 4.
Program 6 = Version 2 filters
Program 9 = Version 3.2 filters
All other standard programs = Version 4 filters - [which I believe is still used in all recent updates].
I have no knowledge of any further changes or updates to the filters since Version Four, even though other things have been updated or bugs fixed in Version Five.
The point is that you have the choice to utilise the filters from each of the diferent versions giving you a wide range of settings to modify and different filtering options to suit your preferences.
