Are there any detector fellows I might meet in or around the Airedale /Craven areas of Yorkshire?

I am brand new to detecting but do possess good communication skills and a jovial nature, which I suspect will make me good at gaining permissions! I would value meeting any experienced detectorists in or around the areas of Skipton, Keighley, Ilkley, Colne, Howarth, etc... I am located in Sutton in Craven. I have a car and can travel a little! I also know nothing about dectorist do's and dont's so be prepared for an inquisitive mind! I look forward to getting out there! Thanks for reading this.

Hi Basil, I’m similar to you in that I’d like to try detecting but haven’t got started yet. I contacted the Airedale group about attending one of their meetings but they said they weren’t accepting new members. In particular, you'll find this link a valuable starting point as it is designed to get you 'up and running' without risk of contravening those legal boundaries that govern our activities.
