Apart from any technical difference that may exist, check the coil plugs are compatible with your machine as there both 4 and 5 pin versions in use. Regards ss47

The coil is 5 pin?
Quick look on Pentechnic's, Hawkeye is 5 pin.

thanks bob but would it just go straight on to the hawkeye without having to have it tuned in TIA

Polo coil is I believe is concentric, any idea if the coil on the Hawkeye is DD or concentric, if DD would probably need tuning, Pentechnic's would have the answers.yorkie wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 2:53 pm thanks bob but would it just go straight on to the hawkeye without having to have it tuned in TIA

Tesoro legacy machines used two types of coil
so you can't plug the wrong one in they have different connectors
makes no difference if its concentric or DD
Machines with a ground balance will give good performance on any coil fitted that have the correct connector
machines without a ground balance will work but might not be optimal. However the odds are it will work fine without any internal adjustment.
