Chase the old stuff

Post by stupot »

Off early to a favourite spot at a Victorian resort. Tends to be quite reliable on the whole, but not this time. Sand covering the entire area that normally gets scoured out - hopeless. Shot over to another beach to find exactly the same thing. Back to th original spot and a walk away from the sand to see if anywhere else on this large bay was open. A smaller area at the top of the beach was down somewhat, so got stuck in. Quite a few coins turned up with some early buttons and a small crop of Georgian coppers plus a few tanners including Victoria and a rough Bull Head. The small silver pendant was a very welcome find. Normally don't find this many pre-vic in this area. Four hours work for this little lot. Tumbled the coins just to see what they were. Quite happy!
